What is your real name and can you tell more about your background?
My real name is Mansoor Ali and I was born in Hyderabad, Pakistan. I grew up learning low life was a pleasure that taught me to have values for simpler things in life.
Therefore I explored my self from the day 1, unscarred, and untied with my imagination I was able to have a dream to create and never stop. Listening to English music was my English education, watching Hollywood movies was my awareness. The limitations were many but I wouldn’t see them. My music journey started with playing guitar at the the age of 14. Me and my brothers formed a teenage band called ONE, named after Metallica’s song.
Apart from producing music for the band, I am a fashion phtoorgarapher with the alias Mannbutte.
What is the concept behind Pop Suicide? What is it exactly you do in Pop suicide?
Pop Suicide is how I express my self, as in “Kill what’s new and pop” and give birth to a new genre or mood, its a long journey but I will get there.
In Pop Suicide, I produce, I write, I compose, I collaborate and play most of the music.
Why didn't you name the band Rob In Space?
It was badly planned! But now we have to improvise.
What is the goal for Pop Suicide?
Connecting wider audience and touching their hearts.
What is the concept behind Rob in Space? Why name " Rob “?
Rob was created in the need of a disguise, it happened after a racist comment, judging the type of music I would be doing by looking at the color of my skin.
Rob is short for robot. So rob in space is actually robot in space. The idea of spaceman, was result of a nostalgia, when I was called the “spaceman” in my university
for being the modest kid in a conservative environment.
When was the band formed and if there were any other band members?
The group was formed in September 2018 by me and other two band members :Jullz Bek & Benedickte Gammelgaard. The band released their debut single “Breeze” on March 12th 2019, followed by their first official music video on VEVO.
